Want to measure your degree of homophobia? Here is the test
I revisited a test that measures the U.S. 'attitude toward homosexuality because you can see the extent of your homophobia ![]()
Find the original, which has clearly recognized scientific validity, unlike this one that I think has been validated in Italy on this site .
I repeat for clarity: The following test, as it is placed, has NO scientific validity. E 'was used as an example to measure homophobia.
Answer questions truthfully that follow, using a scale of 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly disagree)

| Very agree | In agreement | Neutral | Disagree | Much in disagreement |

- Knowing that an artist is gay has no effect on my appreciation for his work.

NOTE: Questions 1.2, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, and 21 have a score to the contrary (for example, to score 5 in the first sentence would not want to have sex * amic ).

I still have not figured out how to calculate the points! xD
However, questions 1.2, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 and 21 have responded always 1! so it means a lot of agreement and therefore do not understand how the heck should the result come out in numbers.
Oh well anyway I respect homosexuals fully, I admire them and love them! not conceive of homophobia!

my score is 103 .. but I am a lesbian so I do not think is worth a lot = D
103 and 105 but not because the question 7 says: "Homosexual persons dislike the opposite sex" and I see that, actually, for various reasons this happens sometimes.
12 The question, rather, I construed to be interpreted as it should and not like I would play, says: "The love between two men or two women is very different from the love between two persons of opposite sex" and I think it is! I think that gay love is better than straight.
Finally, little dispute regarding the penultimate question: "If I knew that someone is gay, go ahead and try to become amic *" sounds like "it's cool to have gay friends" and I knew the way but had to be redrafted

@ Federica: in fact, your note made me think. Excluding the questions that should be evaluated with a score on the contrary (those at the bottom of the test) is a high score counter to determine homophobia (and homophobia). It 'was an oversight on my part: I have considered the Likert scores on the contrary. Thanks for letting me know

Paola, there must be some misunderstanding here. To test how it is constructed, in my opinion, is a very low score indicates a high level of homophobia, not the other. (Unless I have misunderstood how to calculate the scores, of course).
For example:
# 5 "Homosexuality is a mental illness." I totally disagree: I take 5.
# 13 "# I see the gay movement as a positive" I am very agree: 1 would take, but on the contrary, the score then 5.
I am not homophobic at all!

@ Federica: the score is high. How homophobic do you feel?
@ Rosy: for you the same question. How homophobic do you feel?
For anyone who does this test: some questions in particular made you reflect on your thoughts or behavior?

I hope I did not have trouble with the questions with a score to be reversed, however, I testify about 99-103, depending on how you interpret certain questions.
Hello.
August 30th, 2009
I got score 67 (50 + 17)
(The score 17 is relative to the responses 1.2, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 and 21 with an oscillation between 1 and 2, while the remaining 10 items the score is 50)
